Thelander CVC Digest: June 2023
United States vs. Europe: Where Are CVC Units Paid More?
In June’s Thelander Digest, we examine how compensation differs between corporate venture capital units in the United States versus Europe. So where do you think CVC units are paid more? Let’s dig into the data!
The first graph shows the median, the 75th percentile, and the maximum total cash for senior investment professionals in the United States vs. Europe. Thelander data shows that all percentiles are higher in the United States when compared to Europe.

The second graph looks at incentives other than base pay and cash bonus. Thelander data shows that the most popular option is “corporate stock only”. This holds true regardless of whether you are in the United States or Europe.

Our Findings: After analyzing the Thelander data, it’s clear that senior investment professionals in the United States are compensated more than in Europe.
